Linda Sillitoe, Mormon journalist and poet who left the LDS Church in the 90s, around the same time she published the collection in which these stanzas appear.
May Swenson, born in Utah in 1939, she quietly left the LDS Church as an adult and headed off to New York. She became a famous poet, who lived her queer, Post-Mormon life in private. She never returned to Utah.
